THE HOT TIN

SaveOurVenues:
THE HOT TIN
(direct link to the Hot Tin's Crowdfunder page: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/thehottin#start )

"We're proud to be a part of today's nationwide launch of Music Venue Trust's #SaveOurVenues campaign.

We need Artists, Music Fans & Local Communities to act together to prevent ours and hundreds of local music venues from permanently closing.
Go to saveourvenues.co.uk to get involved as a performing artist or if you're one of our fans you can find us under 'Fans' by clicking here or directly on our Crowdfunder page.

Our venue like many others face permanent closure as it's highly unlikely that for the foreseeable future we'll be able to re-open whilst still maintaining our accumulating, running costs.

To plug the temporary gap we now face, keep positive and survive, we need the support from those keen for us to re-open when the time comes.

Your kind donations will be used to help keep our staff, cover some of the The Hot Tin's ongoing losses and overheads and towards re-structuring for when we are finally able to open to full capacity.

If we hit our target and can prevent the closure of our venue, everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.

After 70 years of being closed to the community, The Hot Tin has been running as a café, arts and music venue for the past 18 months to entertain its local people and bring to the Tin, a diverse diaspora of people worldwide.

We're dedicated to putting on arts and music events and to bringing communities together from around the corner and around the world.

We’ll need to work quickly once we are able to open again, and your kind donations will provide support for our team, artists and performances, so we can carry on keeping The Hot Tin a cultural hub that is accessible to all.

Like all who run venues, it's a labour of love. We know that times are strange and uncertain for us all and greatly appreciate any support no matter what you can give."

Lots of love and stay safe!
The Hot Tin Corrugation

FAVERSHAM HOP FESTIVAL POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT YEAR

NEWS 25th March from Faversham Hop Festival . . . .
"It is with great sadness that we have to release the following statement from the directors of Faversham Hop Festival : -

Faversham Hop Festival and Coronavirus

For infectious diseases such as the flu and the common cold, public gatherings like Faversham Hop Festival are seen as super spreader events by the authorities. However, unlike the flu and the common cold, there is no vaccine for COVID-19 and the possibility of one being available by the time our event normally runs is not guaranteed.

Whilst many people will be inconvenienced by the virus, for some COVID-19 is life threatening.

We could wait to see how things play out, but financially a late cancellation is more than an inconvenience to the stall holders and local business owners relying on the income the festival brings to them. Additionally, lack of surety over the footfall we could attract, even if everything miraculously clears up in time, means we won’t have the investment to continue with planning. The festival company itself, as a non-profit, has no reserves and there is no likelihood of financial support from local businesses, or local government who will be suffering in this environment.

Additionally, with the latest Government instructions, it has now become impossible to continue planning effectively for this year’s festival without breaking these rules or putting members of the team at risk.

Therefore we have decided to err on the side of caution and postpone our festival until next year - for many reasons, we feel it’s simply the right thing to do.

We very much hope to return in 2021 to bring this wonderful event back to the town and resume the tradition that these extraordinary events have interrupted. For now, stay safe, stay home and healthy and the happy times we have here in Faversham will return."

Thursday 26th March 2020 - 8pm - CLAP FOR OUR CARERS - at UK

People in the UK are being encouraged to take part in a huge round of applause to show their appreciation for all those working in the NHS.

The Clap for our Carers campaign is asking for as many people as possible to clap their hands together on Thursday 26 March at 8pm to thank all doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists and other NHS staff working hard to help those affected by the coronavirus.

People across the UK can clap from their gardens, front doors, and balconies to show their support.

PLAYING IN FAVERSHAM

Due to the current situation and the advice of the government urging people to stay away from pubs, theatres etc:
THIS SITE WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATED

The events that I know have been cancelled have been removed from the listings. However, it is likely that events have been cancelled without my knowledge so the listings are not trustworthy.

My thoughts are with the staff of the pubs and venues and I wish them well in these difficult times.

Take care everybody.

SATURDAY MORNING CLASSICAL

CLASSIC CONCERTS AT THE ASSEMBLY ROOMS

CROWDFUNDER
"Hello loves,

Currently we’re still open and we’re also putting recitals online so people can attend safely.

This needs funding and we’ve set up a Crowdfunder so we can keep going and keep musicians making music and protecting musicians’ livelihoods at this extremely complex time.

Please, if you can, support this project and see you Saturday, either here or at the Assembly Rooms!

Stay well and much love

Ben"

THE HOT TIN

20/3 . . . For the sake of all our wonderful customers and amazing staff we’ve decided to close our doors from this morning and for the time being. Our contribution to #flatteningthecurve.

Heartfelt thanks to all for your unfailing loyalty!

Love always, the very best of wishes and most importantly stay safe and positive!

See you soon!
Love Romana, Mike, Will, Ugne, Leila and Millie xxxxx

THE MARKET INN

All live music at the Market Inn is cancelled until at least 3rd April. Following the advice from the government on avoiding pubs and gatherings of over 100 people. Many customers and musicians are wisely following that advice.

We will remain open until the government tells us to close. While they say they have no intention of closing pubs. In France, Spain and Italy voluntary advice rapidly changed to a complete shut down of the hospitality industry within a few days.

Currently we will still open at midday but you may find us closed at 10.00 pm if we've been empty most of the evening.

If there is a sudden shut down by the government any completed tote envelopes will be held over until the first Sunday of reopening.

THE SUN INN

The Sun Inn has cancelled all live music for the time being

THE ANCHOR

Live Music cancelled for the time being

THE ALEXANDER CENTRE

Due to the current health situation, and further to government advice. Most events at The Alexander Centre for the forthcoming few weeks have been cancelled or rescheduled. If you have a ticket for any forthcoming event, please check the website or call us on 01795 591691 to check the status of your event.

FAVERSHAM FOLK CLUB - The Limes

Faversham Folk Club, The Limes

Dear Folkers,

Due to the present emergency, with the Government urging us to stay away from pubs, clubs and assemblies, the committee have agreed that we have no alternative but to suspend operations until the situation resolves.

If anybody can think of a way that we could have a “virtual folk club” using online technology, then we would love to hear about it.

Meanwhile, keep safe, keep well, and we will see you when this is all over.

Pat and the Committee

THE ARDEN THEATRE

In the light of the current Coronavirus pandemic, the committee have decided to close the theatre until for at least one month from today.

MONDAY 16TH MARCH 2020
The reasons are simple.
We naturally hold the health of our audiences, users and volunteers above all else.

We naturally fully understand that opinions towards the current National problem do vary. However, we are not in a position to accommodate all views - hence the closure.

We are contacting all imminent and future hirers regarding the situation.
Should you have any questions - please contact chair@ardentheatre.co.uk

The committee will continue to work in the background to be sure that when
we return to normal the transisition is smooth.
