Beethoven Sonata no. 30 in E majorBernstein Touches
Chopin Ballade no. 4
Franck Prélude, Chorale et Fugue
Beethoven’s late fantasy sonata contrasts with the exquisitely melodic barcarolle of Chopin’s 4th Ballade but shares the idea of theme and variations with Bernstein’s competition test piece whose inscription reads “ Written for my first love, the keyboard”. Franck’s eloquent and mighty work concludes the programme.
Ryan Drucker is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and winner of many piano prizes amongst them the Yehudi Menuhin Scholarship. He first played at the Wigmore Hall at the age of 16 and has gone on to perform all over the world.
