The classic tale of ‘The Tempest’ gets a modern feel with this imaginative re-staging. Retaining the original Shakespearian language, this production swaps kingdoms for corporations, banishment to a magical isle for homelessness and life on the street. Ousted from her boardroom, Prospera survives as an opportune herbalist and healer. Helped by the feral Caliban and ex-junkie Ariel, she raises her daughter in safety, until she gets the chance of revenge on her enemies. Trust and betrayal, revenge and forgiveness, love for a child and love at first sight, weave together into this spellbinding story. All profits are going to ‘Catching Lives’ Canterbury’s homelessness charity.
