Archived Thursday 22nd May 2014 - THE DOCTORATES - at The Vaults

Formed in early 2011, The Doctorates are a three-piece Indie band based around Canterbury, Kent. They consist of school friends Josh Marden on drums, Nick Tompkins on guitar/vocals and Addison Williams on bass guitar.

They have supported the likes of The Moons, Parlour Flames and Audioshock, and are making their first festival appearances this summer, beginning with Lounge On The Farm, Smugglers and Herne Bay Festival. In early 2013, The Doctorates brought out their self-released debut five-track EP, 'Sorry Love' which has gone down well with fans and writers so far.

The Doctorates take a simple approach to music, with influences from The Clash, The Ramones, Elvis Presley and The Kinks through to the likes of The Vaccines, Spector, The Hives and Kings Of Leon. The band are constantly writing new material and are looking forward to their next visit to the studio to lay down some more tracks. They are currently unsigned and seeking a label.

Live music at The Vaults (AKA The Old Wine Vaults) every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month
