Born in Edinburgh in 1992 of Scottish and Japanese heritage, at the age of 15 Sean was the youngest musician ever accepted on a full scholarship at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating in 2012 with first-class honours. Over the last two years Sean has appeared as soloist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the BBC Symphony Orchestra performing Rodrigo’s Concerto de Aranjuez, the Malcolm Arnold and Villa Lobos Concertos and recording Takemitsu’s To the Edge of Dream.

Concert highlights include his debut solo recital at Wigmore Hall and an invitation from Mitsuko Uchida to attend the Marlboro Summer Music Festival & Academy in the USA, to which he returns this summer.
