Archived Wednesday 13th September 2017 - THE BLUES JAM - at The Market Inn

The Market Inn Blues Jam started in 2014 and is now a well-established event on the Faversham music scene – courtesy of mine hosts, Sue and Dave. It’s held on the second Wednesday in each month, between 8.30 p.m. and 1100 p.m. A full backline is provided.

The guys from the house band aim run the jam with a minimum of formality – as follows:

The house band open and normally close the evening (unless it's especially busy) and will be pleased to support jammers if required.

Each set of jammers is allowed three songs (of reasonable length!) If it gets very busy that may be reduced to two songs. We do try to get people up for a second go if time permits – no promises!

To minimise stage downtime, we aim to get the next set of jammers together while the preceding set is on.

Volume has occasionally been an issue - so you may be asked to turn down or manage your volume better during the first song!

The “blues” has a wide definition – electric or acoustic and players at all levels are welcome - but we do ask that the genre be respected.

When arriving, please make yourself known to Evan or Pat from the house band.

Be aware that parking can be an issue in the small pub car park, but there should be space alongside the public open space next to the pub - in Park Road, off East Street. The Institute Road car park is a short walk from the pub.

There is a Facebook page as a point of contact, and there is a dedicated YouTube channel, where selected videos of each session can be viewed
