The Blue Moon Two are a vocal and guitar duo specialising in Rockabilly, Rock & Roll and Country. Their main influences are Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and Wanda Jackson, along with a whole host of artists within a broad rootsy demographic. The core aim is to lay down an authentic 50’s vibe through creative cover versions and original material. With full respect to tradition they strive for their own twist on the music without losing the original spirit.
The duo is fronted by Kirsty Brown whose voice is steeped in the traditions of the genre. Whether laying down a sultry and smoky blues tone, a sweet melodic country twang, or a full on rockabilly holler, Kirsty’s delivery has wowed audiences wherever she has sung. She backs her versatile and powerful vocals with rock solid, intricate guitar rhythms that drive the whole Blue Moon Two sound. This sound is complemented by the guitar playing of Jared Hazelby. Jared is heavily influenced by the early rockabilly, and country guitar players such as Scotty Moore, Grady Martin, Cliff Gallup, James Burton and Joe Maphis. He infuses the sound with bopping melodic lead lines that conjure the vibe of Sun Studios or veer off to Nashville, Louisiana or Texas as and when required.
Together, The Blue Moon Two have created an exciting sound that authentically captures the spirit of the 50’s while adding their own twist to the mix.
