Born in London and now living in Orkney, Rory is one of our best-loved and widely travelled folk performers, though 'folk' does not really encapsulate all that he does. He is highly accomplished on the guitar, harmonica, trombone and a variety of percussion instruments (often at the same time) and his performances include storytelling and songwriting in the great troubadour tradition. He has absorbed music from around the world on his travels - you can hear echoes from not only Britain but also the Caribbean, South America, Eastern Europe and many other places, and he has produced some outstanding albums, from Angry Love in 1985 to his most recent Swings and Roundabouts. If you haven't seen Rory before, you will come away urging everyone you know to see him next time. A genuinely nice guy and a genuinely outstanding live act.

"Rory is a dynamic live performer - never still or silent, his shows radiate energy. All this dynamism does not obliterate his songs which are always thought-provoking and well crafted. Get hold of one of his albums and come and see one of the folk circuit's greatest live performers." Venue magazine, Bristol (UK)

McLeod is one of the most energetic, most generous performers I've seen." Doug Spencer, ABC Radio
